Why the Internet is dangerous for kids

You probably heard from other parents that the internet is a dangerous place for kids. Yes and no. If the internet is properly accessed, it can have overwhelming and positive benefits for the child's knowledge and development. Why the Internet is dangerous for kids is actually the fact that bad guys can easily hide their identification and have easy access to their children on the internet without even knocking through the door.

Here are some of the dangers kids can find on the Internet.

Cyberbullying
Computer abuse is when another child or teen is harassing your child on the Internet. As with bullying at school, the only difference is that all harassment activity is done online where the child is in the room. The other child or teenager can humiliate, threaten and confuse her child with words, offensive photos that may affect the child's self-esteem, or simply name names.

Sexual Exploitation
This is when sexual predators try to lure kids to offline meetings using online convincing tactics. Sometimes they can give children gifts (usually something they can't afford or refuse to buy for their child), try to show them something they don't have (increase their anxiety and level of interest), or offer them cash for a promised job . If the children are low, their anxiety and interest are high, there is a high likelihood that predators will contact predators. Other parents may not be able to give concrete examples of why the Internet is dangerous for children, just saying "the Internet is dangerous, keep your child away".

Cyberstalking
Cyberstalking is when the stalker continues his victim relentlessly and is more likely to result in some offline attacks. When the attacks move from online to offline, the situation becomes more serious as it may contain some physical connection. Therefore, it is always ruthless for your child not to disclose any personal identification information. This includes the home address, the school name, and the places where they often hang.

These are just some examples of the Internet being dangerous to children. Apart from being able to control your children over the Internet, you may want to take further steps to become more alert. One of the effective approaches parents use to date is installing a parental control software. Net Nanny Parental Control software is such software and can prevent unwanted and harmful websites from reaching your children.
