Before you begin using a new site or editing your current site, you should consider which hardware and software tools you need to support your efforts.
When hardware is needed, this is very simple or reasonably complex to suit your needs. Of course, if you want to create a new website (or you can check your new site later), you need a computer. It's pretty simple, right? Not necessarily. We work with Apple Macintosh (OSX Leopard on the MacBook Pro), since we are doing a lot of intense graphic work and invested in Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.). The new site is just as easy to create with your Windows PC, but we recommend that you stay away from using Windows Vista (any version) and move to Windows 7 or Windows XP. These operating systems are much more stable and reliable.
Another aspect of hardware can be a kind of security hard drive or removable USB memory (s). It is important to back up all your site data to a removable drive if your computer crashes, is interrupted or stolen. When creating Web files, most of the data is stored on the servers server site, but in many cases there will be many other "build files" that will usually never make it to the hosting servers. If you lose this data, you will in many cases be forced to start from scratch. Another hardware device that many people forget about is an HD video camera. If you want to add a video to your site, forget about something decent; you can usually record a good video camera, which also captures "stills" under $ 50000.
For the software you need, this may be a bit more complicated, depending on the purpose of the website design. At least you will need some word processing software, FTP (file transfer software), graphics software, and then many other tools as you progress.
Below is a list of some of the most common topics to consider when designing a website product.
Do you currently have a computer that can quickly and efficiently process large files (eg video files)?
Are you planning to receive your site portal? If so, do you know what type of hardware and server software you will need?
BACKUP HARD DRIVE OR USB STICK
Is there any spare hard drive or plan available?
Are you creating unique videos for your website and if so, is there a HD video camera ready?
MOBILE WEB INSTRUMENTS
Are you planning to have your site "mobile web friendly"? If so, do you have an iPhone and iPad? Android phone? Blackberry device? These tests will be needed!
WEBOLD SOURCE SOFTWARE
Is there any site development software (such as Adobe Dreamweaver or Microsoft Front Page) installed, licensed, and ready to use?
GRAPHIC EDITOR SOFTWARE
Are you planning to create or edit your own webpage graphics? Do you have the necessary software (eg Adobe Photoshop or Photo Studio)?
Are you planning to create a database for your website and, if so, know which software should be used for this purpose?
