The advantage of using PHP and MySQL

One of the first options for making a new website is whether it should be static or dynamic. Static websites display the same content for each visitor. Of course, there may be more than one page on the page, but the content is fixed. On active web pages, the content may change. Guests can interact with it. For example, they may leave comments for other visitors. In general, a powerful web site offers much more potential. But if you only want to give you a brief introduction to you or company, then the interruptions may be the answer. However, in most other cases, the dynamic webpage is the way to go.

Static pages consist of HTML files that are generated locally on your computer and then uploaded to the web server. These can be done in dedicated applications like Adope Dreamweaver, Microsoft Expression Web, or Coffeecup HTML Editor. If a change is made, the files will be changed to the computer and then uploaded to the server again.

To create powerful websites, you need to use a script. This means that the web browser reads and "translates" the file instead of sending it as it is in the browser. PHP is a common script language.

Example of PHP:

? Php>

Echo "Hello World!";
?

The above example shows the text Hello world! PHP and HTML can easily be mixed into one file. Start and complete tags shows the server what is PHP and HTML. In the same way as HTML files, you can create PHP files in any editor that can save files as text. The example does not actually show the actual strength of PHP. What makes it suitable for powerful websites is the ability to connect to a database. This allows you to store and receive information. This can be used for varied information, such as usernames, comments, captions and so on. This also means that you can add information to your webpage from any computer with internet access.

Popular database is MySQL. Both PHP and MySQL are open source software and there are many resources available in support.

And even if you do not want to learn how to program PHP and SQL, you can still reap the benefits of this strong combination. There are many tasks that develop scripts that you can use for free on your own website. WordPress is blogging software. When installed and run, it is very easy to add new posts to your site. Another solution is to get a Content Management System (CMS) like Joomla. The script files provide instructions on how to set them up, so it can be done with minimal knowledge of PHP. Some web hosts have even made it easier. They offer a script installation, since you only need to provide some lines of information, the system takes care of the rest. You can also get other solutions like a forum or forum that is programmed in PHP and ready to run.

PHP and MySQL are also very scalable. From a private web page or blog hosted on cheap hosting provider of very large social networks. For example, Facebook is based on PHP and MySQL.
