Sync Workshop: Problems with iPhone, Ford Sync and Phone Connections

Sometimes Ford Sync users have difficulty getting their iPhone to "call" their contacts, and often the solution is as easy as cleaning a dial-up list

iPhone users, and yes, even Samsung , HTC, Motorola, Microsoft, and Blackberry smartphone owners do not necessarily know they have badly provided their dial-up connection. If the Ford Sync or MyFord Touch system can not correctly identify the connection, it can not effectively end the call.

Take a look at the dial-up contact list. On the iPhone, press the "Contacts" icon. The display should show the partner's "wired" font (light weight type). The surname will be "bold face". If it has not been discovered, go back to the application screen and tap the "Settings" icon. Then press the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" icon. Scroll down to "Contacts". Below it is the "Sorting order". Select "Last, First". Then select "Order Order" and select "First, Last". With these options, you can list a list of dial-up contacts with your friends in alphabetical order according to the first letter of your first name

Where we have seen people with sync problems when the partner first and last name on the first name line. For example, if the above photo is used, Michael Alexander will be submitted and saved as a "First name" line in a new name file. The problem comes from Ford Sync, which is able to tell the difference between first and last name. Enter the first name in the first name line and last names in the namespaces, and then the Sync system "searches for", for example, "Call Michael Alexander".

Do not put the smiling faces, punctuation marks, and other alien signs in the name.

For example: "Michael Alexander "

The Sync system will not be able to interpret the name and emoticon. So do not use emoticons.

If the phone number is a "Home", "Work", "Mobile", or "Other", place the phone number on the corresponding line. Do not disturb the first name of "Michael on the mobile phone". Once again this will interfere with the Sync system, so it can not properly index and accept the name.

If you have stored SIM cards in the past to store phone numbers and contacts, do not forward them to your smartphone, saved SIM card ". The SIM card is a small portable storage chip that allows you to transfer the phonebook but keeps it in a safe level, and Sync does not have access to it. You can see the contact list and view all the names. However, if all of them are "saved to SIM cards," then the Sync system will not be able to "see" them. Edit the contacts from the most frequently-called names and select "save to phone" instead of "save to SIM card".

Finally enter your name in uppercase and lowercase letters. Do not save the names in all the caps. Sync does not recognize all caps (usually) unless you write it down in a letter.

You can edit or update the phonebook at any time, and at the next start, Sync will review your connections and "view" the changes you make.

Also, please note that Sync's voice "sees" a possible name or word based on the syllables and the phonetics. Ethnic words can not be understood. Even a name like Nita (pronounced Nee), the Sync system is formatted as "Ny". So, without just naming a name in Sync, why not give your friend another moniker, such as "My Best Friend" or "Crazy Lady".

Apple uses a lot of its own programs, get acquainted with your friends on your iPhone contacts, but it may not always be transmitted through Sync.

So pass your phonebook "once over." If you have a problem with calling the name, these may be factors.
