Introduction

A number of organizations developed SharePoint without taking into account the resources needed to share and manage SharePoint, especially human resources. Initial focus is often placed on the technical side of the development, and the initial go-live, continuous management of the site is a little thought. One area that often gets the least amount of training is more frequent than no mistake. In the absence of proper training for all the users involved, SharePoint will be installed unsuccessfully.

This document details the five distinct, distinct problems that are needed to manage and leak SharePoint, as well as the training required for each training.

Although this article deals specifically with these concerns, this does not mean that the same person can not do it. The only comment that SharePoint's major owner should never should be in IT – this is contained in a separate document that is available on SharePoint's seven pillars .

It should also be noted that contingency requirements are not mandatory and because each organization is different, thus the responsibilities assigned to skills. These tasks must be configured to match the organization's internal structure and in-house skills. This document guides you through identifying qualified areas and helps you select all staff members to fulfill each role.

Skills Required

After SharePoint is installed in your organization, there are more capabilities to maintain the system and to improve the company's strategy properly. These skills are seen as the most distinct concerns and, if possible, the most diverse people serve. Obviously, this is not always the case, but by analyzing the matrix of skills, as if they were special people, it is much easier to understand.

There are four main actors in the SharePoint – SharePoint system administrator, Super User, SharePoint Designer and Web Developer world. These terms are always referenced to this document.

We decided to leave the fifth player in the chart – the End User. End-users contribute to SharePoin, but are not needed for system development; end users are discussed at the end of this document.

Training Area 1 – SharePoint Administrator

It's probably one of the most misunderstood capabilities of SharePoint for the Administrator. Many people confuse the Administrator with the concept called SharePoint Administrator (this is referred to as the super user role). Instead of explaining the differences between the two roles, I will detail the SharePoint Administrator feature in this section and the Super User in detail in this document.

SharePoint administrator primarily focuses on SharePoint back-end functionality, focusing on how it is integrated with other server applications.

Responsibilities

  • Choosing the right version of SharePoint.
  • Specifies the most appropriate setting for expected loads.
  • Installing SharePoint correctly.
  • Configure email (incoming).
  • Set up an e-mail (outbound).
  • Virus protection works.
  • Setting startup security.
  • Configured shared services.

Skill

Anyone who has this feature must be an administrator for Windows Server, SQL, and Exchange for at least two years. You should know Domain Name Systems (DNS) and Active Directory thoroughly.

Training For the Exchange of Existing Skills listed above, the Administrator benefits from the 5-day SharePoint Administrators course. Make sure this is a System Administrator course not a SharePoint Administrator course!

Workpiece

After the SharePoint system has been accelerated, the additional burden on the administrator will remain at 1% of their existing workload.

2nd Qualifying Area – Super User

This person has the most important feature within SharePoint, they are responsible for configuring SharePoint to meet 70% of organizations' needs. This is the role sometimes called SharePoint Administrator because it administers the SharePoint front-end environment. After System Administrator has installed SharePoint and confirmed that the super user reliably installed it will take over.

This role is not of a technical nature (ie, it is not necessary to know the code or the computer systems) and it is strongly recommended that this role be given to a non-IT person. This is due to the fact that the role of this role should be I (information) and not T (technology). According to our experience, IT team members focus on technology because they know this. This role is suitable for a business analyst, as they are able to analyze problems and find solutions for the current organizational strategy. The Super User uses the available SharePoint features that meet the business requirements. Use the Site Actions button to focus on meeting your business needs.

Tasks

  • Managing site collections.
  • Security setting for your site.
  • Creating and Holding Subtasks.
  • Lists, blogs, wikis, etc. Create
  • Create and configure site features.
  • Map Business Issues for SharePoint Features.
  • All configurations under the Site Actions button.
  • Create site-wide policies.

Skills

This individual must have a good communicator at all levels and have a good presentation skills. They need to be able to understand business and analyze business problems. Super User should understand how SharePoint can be configured outside the box. A super user should have the ability to have excellent business analysts and be able to crawl business problems with SharePoint features.

Training

This user will need a 5 day Super User course and 3 Day End User Training. This will fully understand the out-of-the-box capabilities of SharePoint.

Workstation

The Super User may expect 100% of the time to work with SharePoint sites. It is time to share the new opportunities for using SharePoint and managing and maintaining existing SharePoint sites.

Training Area 3 – SharePoint Designer

You can customize more than 20% of your organizers to SharePoint Designer. Customizations made by an individual are changes that are not available in the SharePoint user interface, that is, through the Site Actions button. After the Super User has exhausted its capabilities through the Web site action button, SharePoint Designer came in.

The three major areas of SharePoint Designer are branding, creating workflows, and connecting to external data sources. This document shares the SharePoint Designer inventory set in the three different workflows to clarify each skill you need. This does not mean that three different people must adhere to each area, in fact, one person can handle all three threads.

SharePoint Designer (Banding)

This person will be responsible for managing the appearance and direction of the SharePoint site, including page layouts, home page changes, and aesthetic responsibility. the page. This person should know the accessibility standards during the design so that design is as receptive as possible and that it is pleasing to the eye.

Tasks

  • Creating page layouts.
  • Editing the main page.
  • Guide to Design Best Practice.

Skills

A person performing this function needs to have thorough knowledge of the web and should preferably come from a background of the Internet. It is highly desirable to know Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and HTML. As mentioned, access to access standards is also desirable.

Training

This user will need a 5 day SharePoint Designer course designed for web and graphic designers.

Workpiece

SharePoint Designer typically has a 100% time allocation at the start of installation, and then the commitment is reduced. Workload typically consists of smaller projects that the strategic team has given them.

SharePoint Designer (Workflow)

Workflow is an important part of installing SharePoint. The SharePoint Designer has extremely powerful capabilities to develop customized workflows. The person in charge, in cooperation with the Super User, examines the business processes and translates them into the SharePoint design workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Examining user requirements.
  • Designing and Building Workflow.
  • Testing and evaluating an existing workflow.

Skills

This person needs to have a broad knowledge of current business processes and analytical skills. Experience in mapping business processing is desirable.

Training

This person needs a 5-day SharePoint Designer course.

Workload

SharePoint Designer typically has a 100% time allocation at the start of installation and then decreases commitment. Workload typically consists of smaller projects that the strategic team has given them.

SharePoint Designer [Database Access]

Businesses store information and data in multiple locations at multiple locations. One of the good points of SharePoint is that you can access information stored in other places on SharePoint. With SharePoint Designer, you can access this information so you can use it again and again.

Responsibilities

Creating Data Access Modules. Ensures compliance with data protection laws.

Skills

A person in this role needs to understand data and ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) technology. The previous experience of writing databases is beneficial. Knowledge of data protection law is also desirable.

Training

This person will need a 5-day SharePoint design course.

Workload

SharePoint Designer typically has a 100% time allocation at the start of installation and then decreases commitment. Workload typically consists of smaller projects that the strategic team has given them.

4th Skill Area – Web Developer [19659002] The remaining 10% of the organization 's individual SharePoint needs are available by calling a web (.NET) developer service. This person can be the ultimate solution for SharePoint development, and SharePoint works best if you are fully utilizing "out-of-the-box" features.

This individual will be able to perform deep customization and is able to achieve very close integration between SharePoint and earlier systems. Individual sections and complicated workflow processes can be designed as a Web (.NET) developer. Web Developer can only be called if both Super User and SharePoint Designer have exhausted all other options.

Tasks

  • Developing Solutions / Features in Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Use and use of the object model.
  • Working with SharePoint Web Services and Utilizing them.
  • Creating Parts.
  • Creating User Controls.
  • Execution Events.
  • Developing complex asynchronous workflows.
  • Replacing Solutions and Features with Best Practices.

Skills

The web developer (.NET) must have at least three years of development experience. The browser must have development experience and work for ASP.NET 2 for at least 12 months.

Their basic skills must be:

  • Understanding the SharePoint Object Model and
  • Working Process Management

Training

This user will need a 5 day SharePoint development course.

Workload

The workload of web developers largely depends on business needs, and in particular the level of integration with older systems.

Once again, in the early stages of deployment, Web Developer is vigorously exploited and will soon need less time. Web developers are provided on an ad-hoc basis to complete the project

Skill Area 5 – End-User

Last but not least, the end-user will need some SharePoint knowledge. Although the skills required are minimal, End Users will still need training to establish their trust and acceptance of the site. When end-users are properly trained and explicitly say what they expect from using the site, the more likely they will be successful. A common rule for SharePoint end user training is to focus on small skill-based learning packages and make sure users are comfortable with them. It's always best to work in less than a lot of areas that people really understand.

Tasks

  • Navigate to the site and find content.
  • To update administrators and alerts and RSS feeds.
  • Document files at the right place.
  • File documents with the appropriate metadata for search.

Skills

End users do not need any special skills, and provided they have some exposure on the Internet, they will be able to work with SharePoint.

Training supply is based primarily on trust building and acceptance of site.

Training

End Users need a 1-day session as much as possible. This section can focus on the tasks you will accomplish each day.

Workpiece

End User can expect to keep up to 100% of time with SharePoint Web site. This, of course, depends to a large extent on how the tasks to be performed by the End User can work on the site. End-users are the majority of SharePoint users.
