iTherapy – Emerging Autism Therapy

Technology mostly serves for a better society. In the field of education, technology has become an integral part of the system. Teachers from all parts of the world are using technology in their repertoire to enhance classroom lessons. Among many benefits, there is greater access to education for all, but especially technological advances have opened education more than ever before for disabled people, such as immune disease.

iTherapy utilizes the latest technology available from Apple like iPad, iTouch and iPhone. iTherapy in its core meaning, using Apple product in relation to app (computer software) in the treatment community as a behavior to meet the goals of the IEP team.

Software (applications) for all Apple products is available in the app store located on the iTunes website. Currently there are about two hundred thousand programs with more added every day. Some of the apps I've used to succeed are: Model Me Going Places, First words: Deluxe, First words: Animals, iSpeak and Proloquo2-Go to name a few. You can use these programs individually or merge them to achieve the goal. Whether you are using voice output, building vocabulary, correcting articles or strengthening muscle coordination, any of these devices make it easier, more fun and strengthening.

In addition, learning completes after the completion of the treatment cycle. Unlike other computer-related therapies, they can take Apple products as they go so they can participate in learning whenever the device launches. Not to mention their apple production, but music and movies. Unfortunately, they can also be cold!

For this technology, individuals with limited communication technology were forced to use special design for persons with cerebral palsy. These devices are heavy, bulky and very expensive, ranging from $ 5,000 – $ 10,000. Most of these devices have a voice tag that is robotic in nature – just lets them say they tend to last when the door stops.

In short, when you combine appliance hardware with software like Proloquo2-Go or First Words: Deluxe. The result is ACC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) that is powerful, portable, desirable and affordable. Put this in a treatment community, focusing on pre-defined goals designed by IEP team and you get a iTherapy-effective study program.
