HTC Wildfire is the latest phone in a variety of HTC smartphones. The handset supports quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 2G network and dual band HSDPA 900/2100 3G network. It measures 106.8 X 60.4 X 12 mm and weighs 118 grams and runs with Qualcomm MSM 7225 528 MHz processor. It runs on Android operating system version 2.1 code with Eclair and features HTC Sense user interface.
HTC Wildfire has a large 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display that supports resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors. All controls are touch-sensitive and optical guidance is also provided for easy navigation. Speedometer and proxy detector automatically switch the user interface and turn off the screen in the same order. There are also other new features such as turn on and off and lift to reduce call.
Users can store almost unlimited entries and call files in the phone book. The device has internal 384 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. A further increase in memory is also possible with the help of a microSD card that supports memory cards up to 32 GB. Connection options include Class 10 GPRS, Class 10 EDGE, HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and microUSB.
HTC Wildfire offers a stunning 5 mega pixel camera with features like auto focus, LED flash, smile detection, geo-tagging, etc. Users can capture images of 2592 X 1944 pixels and recorders. For entertainment, a music player that supports MP3 / AAC + / WAV / WMA9 files and video players supports MP4 / H.263 / H.264 / WMV9 files. Other multimedia options include Stereo FM with RDS, games, etc.
Internet access can be done with the help of a full HTML browser. Social networking sites like Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, Google Maps, Gmail are directly integrated into the phone. The phone has a standard Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery that offers a standby time of 480 hours (2G) / 690 hours (3G) and 7 hours 20 minutes (2G) / 8 hours 10 minutes (3G).
