Most people think you need hot water to cook Ramen noodles. For many years I have already rubbed Ramen on campgrounds, car trips and many other times when I've been away from hot water.
Ramen noodles usually take 3 minutes to cook. The instructions say that you simply put the package of noodles into at least two cups of boiling water and you will be ready to eat within 3 minutes.
In order to be "cooked" by Ramen noodles, they must fully absorb the water until they are soft. Temperature helps to speed up this process, but it is not absolutely necessary at all. Ramen noodles can pick up cold water as easily as hot water. The main difference is that it takes longer. Here's a quick guide to helping you cook your Ramen Nuts without heat:
1. Find containers that contain a minimum of 12 or 16 ounces of water.
2. Empty the massage pack in the container
3. Fill the container with cold water
4. Wait 30 minutes
5. Mix the spice
That's it. Pretty simple, right? I have found that 30 minutes are good times for the nails to become quite smooth. Sometimes I can wait an hour. The length of time may vary depending on the water temperature. If it is very cold it will take longer than if it is light. Just look at it from time to time if you are in a hurry.
Of course, it's okay that you do not mind eating cold noodles, but I've found them to be as good when they're cold like when they're hot.
