Most people are aware of government support, such as a Food Sign or Medicaid, but did you know that it is a help program for the phone service? Rescue line is part of a program managed by Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) that provides grants in the form of discounts on phone services. Rescue line will save you at least $ 10 a month, but usually reduces your phone bill by just over $ 13.50. In addition to monthly savings, there is also a benefit called Link-up, which pays half of your activation fee up to $ 30.
With a sustained US unemployment rate of over 9% over a year now, it is not surprising that the number of Americans who receive The receipt is over 40 million and is expected to continue to rise. Medicaid recipients totaled over 50 million. If you are one of these people, you are eligible to receive a rescue discount on the phone service.
Food Marks and Medicaid are not the only applications that meet the lifeboat requirements. Some states follow the guidelines of the Alliance while others have their own rules. The Union Guide requires that your household income does not exceed 135% of the rules on poverty measures, or you have signed up for at least one of these programs:
* Food tag
* Additional Security Assessment (SSI)
* Federal Public Housing Assistance (Chapter 8 Housing)
* Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
* Temporary support for needy families (TANF)
* Free Lunch Program of the National Festival
Now that you know you meet, how do you get it? It's easier than you could think. You do not have to go to a separate state office and meet a procedurer. You do not need to change your phone service providers if you are in service. If you have a home network service, call your network operator and request to install the Lifeline application. They will usually ask you to fill in and sign a simple form that you need to fax or send to them. The form usually asks about your name and address and the qualifications you are a participant in. Your signature says you're telling the truth. Some states also need to demonstrate some kind of proof of the appropriate application, such as your securities statement.
If you are not working on home services, check your yellow pages for local network operators and ask them for their website. All of your major carriers, like AT & T, Verizon and Quest, offer it like most competitive local transport companies (CLEC). Do not worry about your credit history. If you are eligible lifeline, you do not have to pay a deposit if you are ready to let the network operator make phone calls. You can still make long distance calls with calling cards or other prepaid services.
The discount line applies only to one phone line in the home. And the connection fund is a disposable benefit. It's not a good idea to keep changing service providers because you'll only get 30 $ discount once. You could get away by getting a connection number more than once by going to another carrier, but it is not legal for you to do that and the form you sign up for is your statement that you have never received relationship before.
Lifeboat benefits can be applied to mobile phone service instead of home phone. There are several mobile operators that offer the "free government phone" which is actually a lifeline. It usually gives you between 60 and 200 minutes of service per month and a free handset that is your network. But you can not get a salvage allowance for your mobile phone if you get it on your home page and vice versa.
So if you're one of over 50 million Americans who get government support, call your network now and ask them about home phone service .
